Movement

I've been drowning in a limbo

For days and ages

Searching for a moment
Just one lasting memory
That could stand under the water

Still

Is it something that seeks me?

When do I breathe?
Or merely exist?

I hear them all
The gulls above the clear moving ceiling
Screaming and screeching

And my mind shifts like sand

In the loudness of it all
I only wish I could grab something
Where my eyes float still

Still, despite the tides
And fixed on a fixture
A column that rises from the bottom

Something strong
Motionless
