Who can encapsulate this euphoric event
But the chrysalis of perception
Where the sweetened embrace fails to relent
Baiting hungers and their wildest elections

Instants subsist in this hardened status
Flourishing on insulated affection
Where the brain bitterly guards its lattice
And where the soul must earn detection

Afterlife

In the drowning of a dozen influences
Distant support reaches beyond the afterlife
Of a repressed partner
Past present and future tenses
Working harder, grown harder

A feeble recognition feels hand in hand
With lonely representation he stands
A violently halved sacrifice
That wastes in idle intuition
Worried and not enticed

The influence needs to break
Blood of memory returning veins to life
But beyond the afterlife is simply life
Heavens disappearing on the wake
Breaking from the afterlife


Until that time comes
